Education
James Houston attended Radford University and Graduated
with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with
a Psychology Minor. and a certification in Multi-Cultural
Self Defense. His course work included Sports Medicine, Anatomy, Exercise
Physiology, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Commercial Fitness
and Recreation Administration.
He became Adjunct Faculty at New River Community College
and Radford University, Teaching Wellness and Martial Arts.
He also completed D1 Sports Training Certification , including
Duramax and related coursework.

BIOGRAPHY
James Houston began martial arts training in 1985 and has consistently trained since that time. He started teaching in 1990 and has taught thousands of children and adults. He has been an instructor for Military Special Forces, Police, Swat Team and Undercover Drug Task Force personnel. He has been an instructor for Radford University’s prestigious KARATE COLLEGE since 2000 He was Adjunct Faculty for Self Defense and Martial Arts for both Radford University and New River Community College.
Houston has practical experience in using martial arts in competition, performance, law enforcement and bodyguarding. He was a winner of 16 first place titles in Karate, 1989- 1994 and was rated 2nd in the nation in jujitsu style fighting, 1997 USSJA Nationals. He was invited to perform Sword and empty hand Kung Fu at the Chinese Culture show for members of Chinese Embassy in Washington DC 1997. He has used his martial skills as a FUGITIVE RECOVERY AGENT for US Fugitive Recovery Inc. from 2004-2008 and worked as a professional bodyguard for several celebrities.
In entertainment, Houston has used his skills performing in Hollywood and has worked on such films as BLACK KNIGHT, 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS, BAD BOYS 2 and CROSSBREED. Currently you can see him on the TV shows STARS STUNTS ACTION and CULTURE SHOCK on Tubi TV Streaming Service. James has a close relationship with the Cold Steel Knife and sword company and has been featured in several of their viral videos as a weapons tester and cutting expert.
In addition to Martial Arts, James is a lifelong entrepreneur and is CEO of Fulcrum, Inc.
